Photography, Natural history and Birding emphasis. Led by National Geographic Creative photographer Kike Calvo, a Natural history and birdwatching leader plus local experts on each location. It includes presentations on photography, photo critiques and photography training.

GROUP SIZE:  8 participants, not including leaders. Remember we also specialize in private-customized expeditions for birders & nature photographers. If you want us to help organize a private tour for you, please write us.

ACCOMODATIONS: Lodging will consist of a mix of 3-4 star hotels in cit- ies, a very basic lodge in Montezuma, a top-notch birding lodge in El DOrado, and the beach front eco lodge Barlovento, that is touted as one of the best spots to stay in Colombia by the Lonely Planet. There is a river near the lodge at Montezuma and Barlovento, and a pool at the hotels in Buga and Barranquilla, so pack your swim wear! We expect relative comfort, hot showers, and excellent local food and provide a nice variety of snacks and puri- fied or bottled drinking water available throughout the trip

Day 1:  Flights to Cali
Day 2: The Infamous Km 18
Day 3: San Antonio Forest, Andean, Cock-of-the-rock Lek and Travel to Buga
Day 4: Sonso Lagoon and travel to Montezuma Lodge
Day 5: Higher elevations of Tatama National Park
Day 6: Lower elevations of Tatama National Park
Day 7: Montezuma Lodge and travel to Pereira to catch flights to Barranquilla
Day 8: Isla Salamanca and Drive to Minca
Day 9: Minca to El Dorado Lodge
Day 10: El Dorado Lodge to Cerro Kennedy
Day 11: Birding in the vicinity of El Dorado
Day 12: El Dorado Lodge to Tayrona National Park
Day 13: Tayrona National Park and travel to Riohacha
Day 14: Los Flamencos National Park and drive to Santa Marta to catch flights to Cali.
Day 15: Flighs home
